MY STORY:
I have been fortunate to do what I love and love what I do in life. As a young mother of four children I discovered the Montessori method of education that resonated with my ideals. I was inspired to open a school upon graduating St. Nicholas Montessori, London UK and a couple of years later I extended my education graduating Newborough Montessori, Liverpool UK. I started my first business owning/operating the Montessori School for Children for preschoolers & kindergarten age chidlren that I operated for 13+ years in St Thomas, Canada. I simultaneously acted as the Canadian Director for the Newborough Montessori Teaching College during the last 4 years of operation managing workshops, evaluating teachers in their work environments, and conducting teacher examinations.
I relocated to Nashville, TN after my divorce when I married Tommy Boyce. Tommy and his music partner Bobby Hart are best known for creating the sound of the Monkees. The Monkees TV show was revolutionary in the 60's that led to Monkeemania and live performances. The songs created by Tommy & Bobby have been recorded by artists, used in film and TV; their music is still heard around the world. Their success extended beyond the Monkees as both songwriters independent of the other and as recording and performing artists "Boyce & Hart".
Upon Tommy's death in 1994 I attended Belmont University to learn all aspects of the music industry and contractual law to best manage his music catalog. I formed Magic Dolphin Music, Inc. in 1995 as the result of music copyrights reverting to me as widow of singer/songwriter Tommy Boyce. As a Music Publisher since 1995 and over the past years I have functioned in pretty much every aspect of the industry.
It is an honor to be the custodian of the Boyce legacy
and iconic songs that continue to
touch the hearts of so many people worldwide.
I remain passionate to keep Tommy’s and
the Boyce & Hart legacy alive
through productions and useage of their music.
My passion and desire to share my experience led me to assist indie songwriters and artists. I found it rewarding as a guest lecturer for the music programs at Belmont University and MTSU in Nashville. I have functioned in almost every level of the music industry including, copyright research, promoting songs that included negotiating and drafting license agreements for use in film, tv, video, cd compilations and duplication. I have also been active in songwriter/artist management, recording, video production and promotional design for various media product and merchandise.
Until recently I was the Administrator obo Keith Allison's music catalog (formerly of legendary Paul Revere & The Raiders and host of iconic Dave Clark's TV show "Where the Action Is").
My diverse skills have been a benefit when applied outside the music industry, I continue to work with the creators and cast of the rock opera "FIX: What’s Your Monkey" by creating their promotional materials, playbill and ad materials and acting advisor. Performances include TPAC in Nashville. I have hosted numerous events and board meetings over my 25 year career in the entertainment industry. I extended my creative and organization talents as an assistant to a property realtor by designing all her promotional material including open house flyers, website, and blog, as well as, coordinated the legal documents between the agent, buyer, seller, broker, and title companies.
I have acted as business strategy consultant to Bobby Hart of Father Music Group, CLI.Solutions, Larry Weiss of Rhinestone Cowboy, Keith Allison of Git-Tar Keith Music, Jack Tempchin, Danny Tedesco producer of the films "The Wrecking Crew" & "Immediate Family", Nathaniel Crosby son of Bing Crosby, FIX Rock Opera, to name a few. It has been a joy to support and guide songwriters and performers as they navigated their careers, including indie artists Robert Vega, Peter Moon, and Stacie Collins, naming a few. I thrive when I step out of my comfort zone to take on new challenges.
